Deans Battery Connectors
You've tried chocolate block, Tamiya race car types, car audio bullets, banana plugs, 2mm gold /3.5mm then 4mm bullets; NOW fit the best. The US made polarized Deans type we consider is the only way to join the flight battery to your speed controller. Usually the speed controller is fitted with suitable plugs to connect with the motor. But your Nicads or NiMH cells will benefit from a low resistance and reassuringly very snug Deans connector. Solder on both sides of our Deans plugs and cover the four terminals with the suppplied red and black heat shrink tubing, observing polarity. Resolder the flat pins if you change your batteries or leads, renewing the heat shrink material. Perhaps upgrade to the lighter Li-Po type batteries, quality Li-Po batteries often already fit the Deans as standard. The basic Deans pair (male and female sides) weighs 3.6g and currently are black in colour.
Sold as a male/female pair complete with coloured red (+ve) and black (-ve) heat shrink tubing. Shield from the soldering heat whilst tinning quickly and attaching wires; then slide on the heatshrink from down the wires-you did remember to put the heat shrink on first?
Shown also are the Deans Type plugs, freely available on the market now due to the poor £/$ rate. Copies of the Deans originals but distinguished by having distinctive moulded ribs for grip. Likely Chinese manufactured and consequently a little cheaper. Supplied as a pair without heatshrink.
