Electric Motor Mount
A superb blue anodised 2mm thickness aluminium motor mount weighing a mere 9g including four of the cheese head fixing screws. These are 8mm long self-tapping types with crosshead screwdriver fixing. The mount has corner holes, central slot, cruciform slot on the other face with a central motor shaft hole. Measuring 30mm wide, 31mm along the shaft side and 34mm to the longer side. Really tough and frankly, we haven't found a better design. Perfect for the Mugi Evo and an outrunner motor such as our 14A one. Simply strap it on with the usual electrical ties pulled really tightly. Packing underneath for thrust angle changes rather than bending the mount itself. Use a couple of screws on the motor to fix in place-photo above shows a pair of oddball ones but nevertheless a self-tappping variety.
An advantage of this mount over plastic types is the ability to gently bend it though we don't recommend this approach. Shims under the mount work perfectly well. But if you really want to bend the material then fix into a bench vice having protected jaws. Using a flat metal plate, hammer it gently bending to the desired thrust angle.
A must-have mount for everybody's flight box and proving more popular than we ever imagined. Recent international commodity price increases have pushed up the raw aluminium prices; however these mounts are still excellent value and the quality is unsurpassed.
